 Dead Jobs

This website contains several hundred dead jobs. Positions that have been sitting around for long periods of time, never deleted and probably filled. I like the idea that the new positions are asterisked. However, the old positions, you don't know whether they have been sitting there for 7 days or 70 weeks.

America's Job Bank has the quantity and quality jobs available, but their search engine is so crude, so time-consuming, and so annoying that I actually gave up after a while. |
Easy to use

America's Job Search was very easy for me to use. They allow you to search without registering at the site. If you do register, you can post your resume, create cover letters, and save the jobs you've found and are interested in. I recommend this site for everyone, but especially for someone searching a small town.

The first thing that I really appreciated about this site is that you don't have to register to use it. This is not a difficult site to use. It's mostly point-and-click with just a little typing required. Web pages load fairly quickly. It's like having an employment agency in the comfort of your home. |

I think it's a great idea that they linked all 1800 state employment services together in one place. I'm disappointed that you can't do more online, though. You still have to go into the state offices for many of the benefits and services.

No Luck Here

I have not had luck finding jobs with this site. There are lots of jobs, lots of jobs in the clerical field, but I want one where I can deal with people and help them and make it look as if I am doing a little something with my degree.

America's Job Bank is the only web-based job locating resource that turned up the most hits for jobs in my area. Where many other sites didn't have a single job listing for Mississippi, America's Job Bank had over 50. I like the interface because it is quick and easy to navigate. The site is totally free so you don't have to sign up for anything just to see a hirer's phone, fax, or email. I've been telling everyone I know about this site - even those who already have a job.
